Job Description

MSS People are working with a specialist multidisciplinary engineering company who offer industrial solutions to a wide range of market sectors.

Due to ongoing natural growth our client are currently seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join the team who will have responsibilities of all aspects of quality assurance, quality control and health and safety associated with the manufacture of transformer rectifiers and junction boxes and the maintenance of the company’s certifications.

You will…

• Plan, conduct and evaluate electrical testing of transformer rectifier assemblies during various stages of the production process
• Undertake operational testing to ensure products conform to functional specifications, design criteria, customer and legislative requirements
• Performing and evaluating 24 hour heat run tests
• Configuration of third party and in house monitoring hardware and software to be installed as part of the transformer rectifier
• Management of third party inspections
• Completion of test procedures, test reports and data books
• Management of the third party ATEX/ IECE hazardous are approvals for the company’s products
• Responsibility all for health and safety and environmental matters within the manufacturing area
• Responsibility for all aspects of quality control and quality assurance associated with the manufacturing process
• Support the development of products and product performance 

You must have/be…

• Strong experience of working as an Electrical Test Engineer within a manufacturing environment
• Achieved at least a 2.2 degree in electrical engineering
• Logical thinker with the ability to identify problems at an early stage
• Ability to fault find down to the component level with minimal support from OEM
• Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for electrical equipment
• A good knowledge of PLC control systems and software
• Production and review of work place assessments, including PPE and COSHH assessments
• Fully conversant and appreciative of safe systems and work and safety intervention
• Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
• A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Excel and Word
• Knowledge of hazardous area electrical equipment would be advantageous
